Not far from Heraklion, between the mountain ranges of Dikti and Psiloritis, lies the Valley of Peza, home of the wine-making industry on Crete. We may see local vineyards on the way and visit of the village of Peza, where we will take a guided winery tour.
We will visit the exhibition, watch a video to learn about the production of Cretan olive oil before sampling some of the local products.
Afterwards, we visit Archanes, a small village 10 km south of the Palace of Knossos lovingly restored to its original beauty. This village is one of the most picturesque on Crete and has been voted by the EU as “Best Village Restoration Effort”.
Here you can relax, while experiencing the famous Cretan hospitality and enjoy snacks with some greek specialties and locally produced wine in the village tavern
