RHODES OLD TOWN AND FILERIMOS

Drive to Filerimos. Visit the ruins and foundations of the Temple of Zeus Polieus, the temple of Athena ( ancient goddess of wisdom) and a doric fountain.
Also visit the medieval church of Our Lady of Filerimos and church of St George, which has wall-paintings dating back to the 14th and 15th century. Walk through “via dolorosa” a Golgotha with the “12 stations of the Crucifixion”, the striking scenes from the Passion leading to a huge cross.
Return back to Rhodes for a panoramic drive over the Monte Smith Hill which offers a magnificent view of the Aegean and the City.

Continue with a walking tour to the Medieval City. Visit the Grand Masters Palace, the most imposing building of medieval Rhodes. The excursion continues down ‘The Street of the Knights, with many impressive medieval buildings dating back to 14th century.
Some free time in the old town before returning back to the cruise ship for embarkation.
